THE COUGHING CHRISTMAS TREE

Christmas, a time for peace, quiet and thoughtful contemplation. Except in the Trautwein family home, that is! Aunt Traudl is lying in bed with the flu, even though it’s for her benefit that the family put on a full, traditional Christmas every year, with roast goose, real candles on the Christmas tree and all the trimmings. So this year the goose lands in the deep freeze and the Christmas tree outside on the pavement (they do tend to shed all those nasty needles all over the place!). But Aunt Traudl recovers sooner than expected and wants to celebrate Christmas after all. But where do you get a real Christmas tree after New Year’s?
Meanwhile, Hannes has got another problem of his own. His mother’s animal allergy has forced him to hide a secret from his whole family – his pet budgie! Unfortunately for him, he’s useless at lying, and his sister Luzie is even worse. When Aunt Traudl turns up for the belated “Christmas” celebrations, the truth comes out…
