The adventures continue for the “Children from No. 67”. This volume tells how Mirjam, little Ruth who she is looking after, and other shipwrecked children are fighting for their lives on a desert island while World War II rages in Europe. They are eventually found by a pilot and rescued by a warship. And so they make it to the USA where the children are all placed with foster families and Mirjam gets to know life in New York. Soon though, Mirjam and Ruth again make their way on adventurous travels, following the trail that should lead to Ruth’s father in Canada.
