Yvain The Knight Of The Lion

Yvain is young, he is strong and he finds life at King Arthur’s court boring. Yvain is looking
for adventures. One day when he takes off for the storm making fountain he meets
the love of his life. He looses his heart and wins that of his beloved lady. He could live
with her as his wife happily ever after as ruler of the land Next Door. But then his best
friend Gawein comes to see him.
In her first book for young adults Felicitas Hoppe tells the story of Yvain the Knight of
the Lion. She tells how he sets off looking for glory but meets with misfortune instead,
which drives him insane. She tells how he wakes up from his insanity and that he needs
the help of a king, the king of animals, to pursue his chosen path. But she also tells of a
woman who pulls many strings and who is passionate about playing chess.
