Christine Nöstlinger (1936 – 2018), has published more than a hundred books for children and young readers which have been translated into many languages. She has received numerous awards, among them the Hans-Christian-Andersen Medal, the Astrid-Lindgren-Memorial-Award and in 2011 she was awarded the Corine International Book Award, for her outstanding lifetime achievements in literature.
