They meet for the first time in a care home room. Ari reads stories to old people. Flint is here to help the janitor. They quickly become close. They sense that they have something in  ommon, even though so many things separate them. Ari lives with her mother and sister in an apartment building, close to her best friends Mirjam and Milan. Flint, on the other hand,  seems to be completely alone. Ari comes across a manuscript that tells of a strike of matchstick workers in 1888 resident, which makes her start to wonder how her own life might matter to people in the future. While she wonders whether there will be anything left of her in 100 years’ time, Flint is convinced that there is no future for anyone.

Then an accident happens that puts all their convictions to the test and makes it clear how quickly everything can come to an end...
