Simply Weike!

  • Empowerment for pre-teen girls
  • Own Voices author, nominated for the Vielfalter Literature Prize 2023
  • Humorous, endearing and with a magical twist

After her involuntary move from the big city to the village, Weike really only has two thoughts: firstly, how do I get out of here as quickly as possible? And secondly, how do I make sure I‘m not one of the outsiders by then? After a short time at the new school, Weike finds out that the so-called nerds are much nicer than the “in-crowd”. And the hip girls‘ glittery outfits really look like a unicorn has been sick on them. However, the girls’ dance routines are pretty cool - and Weike has secretly been dreaming of dancing for a long time. So she is faced with a conundrum: Can you be nerdy and still glitter? And who is the mysterious granny who always turns up just when Weike is in over her head?
A book for everyone who is still trying to find out who they actually want to be. And about the fact that chess and dance choreos don‘t have to be mutually exclusive.
Topics: being the new girl, finding yourself, dash of magic
