When you stay with Grandma Astrid at Pancake Farm, there are all sorts of wonderful treats in store – including pony riding and the world's most delicious apple cake. Those are just two of the reasons why Greta and Cloud love going there. Another, of course, is Carrot the funny little Shetland pony, who's a favourite with all the children. But little do they know that Carrot actually knows how to read, and is a pretty smart cookie all round! That's why he's the first to realise there's something strange going on at Pancake Farm. The place seems to be haunted! Grandma Astrid thinks she must be going mad. But once Carrot has managed to convince the children of his excellent detective skills – he's spent many an evening watching crime thrillers with Grandma Astrid – they finally start getting somewhere. Together they manage to track down the villain – but can they save Pancake Farm? Inspector Carrot is determined they won't fail!
