Why You Remain Silent

  • A gripping, eye-opening novel
  • Written in the wake of in-depth interviews with victims and experts
  • One in five athletes experiences sexualised violence in sports – with a high number of unreported cases

Lena loves football. And she thinks her new coach Charly is great: finally someone who gets her, finally exciting training sessions, finally, the opportunity to achieve something in sport. And he makes Lena his new captain! But then he also holds her hand as the team celebrates their first victory in the pizzeria. For far too long. It makes Lena uncomfortable, but she doesn’t dare to pull her hand away. Maybe that’s all completely normal? For a long time, Lena doesn’t dare to speak up …

Lena’s story is fictional, but exemplary.
