West Berlin in the 1970s: Mark realises you won’t get far without any cash. That means he’s got to look for a job. Conveniently, his uncle has got one available. Nothing earth-shattering – running errands, shooting photos, collating information. He’s not thrilled with the idea of spying on people – but the money his uncle is offering him is another matter. So Mark doesn’t ask any questions when he is told to shadow Faller, the prosecuting attorney. Only when Mark falls in love with Faller’s daughter Sarah does he develop any scruples.
