My Body is a Cage

  • Authentic portrayal of a sisterly bond
  • An older sister with an eating disorder seen through the eyes of a younger sibling

Malina’s big sister Lucinda is a fascinating character. She can shine like a star – and be terribly condescending. Nobody but Malina knows that she is deeply sad at heart. At first, Lucinda seems to have everything under control. But then the terrible thing happens with her boyfriend Jarvis, and Malina sees her sister drift off towards the darkness … Intense, undisguised, haunting and with no finger-wagging, the multi-award-winning Lara Schützsack tells a story of anorexia and a sensitive sisterly relationship. For all fans of “Girl in Pieces” and intense YA novels.
