Léa has had to move again: This time, she and her mum have come to Paris. How is she supposed to make friends if she is never long enough in one place? Alone but curious, Léa follows a mysterious girl into the garden of Notre-Dame Cathedral. In a hidden corner, she discovers the feather of a shimmer bird, breathes in the golden glow that trickles from it and thereby awakens her “sense of shimmer“: a seventh sense that enables Léa to discover traces of magic and see behind the façade of the world as we know it. And it is with a gang of street children that share this sense that Léa finds real friends for the first time in her life…but the children lead a dangerous life. Léa has to decide how deep she will allow herself to be drawn into this magical underworld…
Kathrin Tordasi's adventures are both exciting and warm-hearted. Her characters experience the power of friendship and have magical adventures in extraordinary, lovingly designed settings.
