Gundi Herget wanted to become a writer at the age of ten but first completed her secondary education, studied literature in Munich and Pisa, learned to play the drums and became an editor, travelled the world and had a child, which reminded her of her ten-year-old self's resolution. She has been writing children's books ever since. She lives with her family in Rosenheim.
