STOFFEL FLIES ACROSS THE SEA

A new edition of Erika Mann’s first children’s book. With original illustrations by Richard Hallgarten.

When this book was first published in 1932, the Frankfurter Zeitung wrote: “Everything is recounted with a delightful sense of suspense, it is likely the grown-ups will be drawn in by it as much as the little ones, for this book is a charming fairy-tale for young and old.”

Night after night, Erika’s younger siblings were told the story of little Stoffel, who courageously embarks on a dangerous journey to help his family. He stows away on a zeppelin to find his mum’s rich brother in America and tracking down his uncle in New York is quite a task!
