The US magazine “Time” chose her as one of the 100 most influential people of the year 2005; she was also named as one of 50 “Best German Women” in 2007. She has been awarded numerous prizes for her books.

Clara Gazzarri studied psychology and cultural anthropology but her true passion has always been illustration - she specialises in children's books. She loves to delve into the imaginary world of children, immersing herself in symbolic and deep worlds and combining digital and analogue techniques. She lives in Volterra, Italy.
