DARK IDYLL

  • A psychologically sophisticated YA thriller by Carmen Korn
  • “These are snapshots of an intimate horror, miniatures of inconspicuous evil that Carmen Korn is able to depict with pinpoint accuracy and in pastel colours.” Volker Albers, Hamburger Abendblatt

The posh Hamburg address is deceptive – a dark secret lurks behind the façade of the villa on the canal.

When Teresa’s mother moves in with her new boyfriend, things look like they are going to be perfect: Teresa is secretly in love with his son Leo. But the move is ill-fated. A year before, a four-year-old boy disappeared without a trace in the old villa on the canal, and the house still seems haunted by the shadows of its past. Besides, Leo only has eyes for Elisabeth, the missing child’s sister. Then, a girl who was connected to the family at the time mysteriously dies. Teresa decides to search for the culprit on her own, without knowing that she is putting herself in great danger in the process…
