When Anders Rolled Into My Life

  • Topics: inclusion, patchwork families
  • A humorous insight into the chaotic life of a modern family
  • With illustrations by Regina Kehn

Ronja’s life is in complete chaos after her parents tell her that they want to separate, or rather that they already have been separated for some time. And now that Ronja’s parents have informed her, her mum immediately wants Ronja to meet her new boyfriend and his children. At school, too, Ronja is faced with a challenge: her class is due to perform a play at the school festival, and Ronja ends up with the leading role, together with a new classmate named Anders. Anders is in a wheelchair, and unlike everybody else in her class, Ronja doesn’t have the nerve to deal with him in a particularly sensitive or “correct” way. And that’s exactly what Anders likes about her. Ronja, on the other hand, urgently needs support in facing – or rather evading – her mum’s new boyfriend and his annoying children. And for various reasons, Anders is just perfectly suited to do that. Full of humour and insights for children aged 9 +.
